Training courses - Family Conferences
The charity's Family Conferences provide a relaxed and personal
setting combining keynote sessions with small workshops to enable
families to obtain practical and relevant information.
About our Family Conferences
Relaxed and personal
The charity can organise weekend conferences for families that are more
relaxed and personal than attending a training day or conference day.
Keynotes and small-group sessions
The format includes one or two keynote sessions for everyone to
attend and then a choice of small informal workshops on a range of
specific topics.
The small workshops are planned to enable families to ask questions
and to discuss the needs of their child within a small group of parents
so that they obtain practical and relevant information.
Meeting families' needs in your local area
The Family Conferences can offer a range of sessions, depending on
your local preferences, covering all aspects of development and
education.
Expert training team
The charity's staff team includes psychologists and speech and language
specialists with a wide range of experience – and experience of
research, teaching and educational issues. Sometimes the charity will also
involve other speakers who have expertise in working with children with
Down syndrome and their families.
