Our code of conduct
What you can expect from us
- We will put the interests of people with Down syndrome first in all of our work.
- We will offer impartial advice and information, supported by the latest research
evidence. If we cannot provide expert advice on a particular issue, we will refer
you to someone who can.
- Only suitably qualified experts will provide services and advice on behalf of Down
Syndrome Education International.
- What we can do is limited. We will clearly explain the extent of what we can provide
clearly.
- We will refer you to freely available sources of information, wherever possible.
Where a fee has to be charged for a service or resource, we will make this clear
from the outset.
- We will provide a prompt service. Where funding constraints limit what we can offer,
we will make this clear to you.
- We will respect your opinions and personal choices, even where we might advise against
them.
- We will always treat your personal information in the strictest confidence and store
it securely.
What we expect from you
- When seeking advice, we ask that you provide us with all the information we need
to offer informed opinions about your situation.
- If you can suggest any changes we can make to improve the services and information
we offer, please let us know.
- If you are not happy with any service or information you receive, we would ask you
to tell us as soon as possible.
