Training
courses
Training workshops, seminars and online courses offer unique
opportunities for the Trust to share information and advice with parents
and professionals.
The Down Syndrome Educational Trust is in a unique position to provide
training.
It is a world leader in research and employs an expert team of practitioners
with highly regarded expertise. Its training courses are based on the latest
research evidence, backed by the Trust's extensive practical experience. The
Trust's training services also build on the Trust's resource base (including
Down Syndrome Issues and Information and
Down Syndrome in Practice).
The Trust will continue providing training courses at The Sarah Duffen Centre
in Portsmouth. It will also continue providing training at locations across the
UK and around the world in partnership with other Down syndrome organisations
and groups.
Alongside these continued face-to-face training activities, the Trust will
develop online courses, based on its world-leading reputation and expertise.
The Trust will work with partners to secure recognised accreditation to
increase the value of its training services.
Through direct contact with thousands of training delegates each year,
the Trust keeps informed of key issues of
concern to families and professionals around the world, thus guiding its research
priorities.
This project also supports the Trust's research activities by providing
a mechanism for sharing the latest research findings.
- Provision of up-to-date, evidence-based information to thousands of
parents and professionals each year.
Funding
Face-to-face training workshops and seminars are self-financing from
fees charged.
We are currently seeking funding to enable the development of online
