Online Intervention Delivery

Summary

This project will investigate the effectiveness of interventions designed to promote the development of language and literacy skills that are delivered online.

Utilising step-by-step guidance and downloadable resources, the project will offer a parent-led, home-delivered programme and follow the progress of enrolled children. This project will utilise the Down Syndrome Activities Online and See and Learn projects for delivering interventions and the Down Syndrome Records Online project for following progress.

A group of children will also follow the interventions 'offline' and their progress will be recorded by researchers.

Impact

  • A better understanding of factors contributing to successful application of developmental interventions communicated online and delivered by parents
  • Measures of outcomes from the use of developmental interventions communicated online and delivered by parents
  • Improved strategies for supporting effective developmental interventions for children with Down syndrome
