Online publishing infrastructure
This project focuses on the delivery of a robust, reliable and available
Internet service delivery platform underpins much of the charity's work.
of this platform and core services.
The delivery of information via the Internet is the most
cost-effective mechanism for providing people with current
information.
Internet information services will be at the
centre of the charity's dissemination activities over the next 5
years.
All of the planned information dissemination projects either
include an online component or are wholly online endeavours. Supporting these is a common infrastructure and
shared systems. The charity has invested heavily in the
development of integrated publishing systems on which to build
these new services.
The continued development of this infrastructure and the
provision of a robust, reliable and available Internet service
delivery platform underpins much of the charity's work.
This project focuses on the delivery of this platform and core
services.
This includes common systems, databases and
equipment including servers and network devices. It also
includes the delivery of core functionality including the
basic web site publishing and testing systems, visitor
registration, content access control, monitoring and error
reporting services.
This project supports the charity's ability to provide a
comprehensive range of
information, advice and resources through its websites
to thousands of beneficiaries around the world, 24 hours a day, 7 days
per week.
This project provides the infrastructure to support the collection of
research data from large numbers of individuals around the world though
online surveys and forms.
- A robust, reliable and available platform to support all of the
charity's online services, delivering content and services to tens of
thousands of people each year.
This project is ongoing.
