The use of bi-focal glasses

Approximately 75% of school-aged children with Down syndrome have difficulties focusing accurately on near work. It has been shown that bifocals can improve near focusing. No study has evaluated the impact of bifocals on academic achievement and wider development for children with Down syndrome.

Research

This study will investigate whether improved near vision and focusing provided by bifocals is associated with gains in academic achievement and wider development.
