"I support Down Syndrome Education Internationalbecause it helps
children and grown ups with Down syndrome all over the world.
"It helps
them to learn to read and write and do all the other things that the
doctors said I would not be able to do when I was born but that I can do
now."
A remarkable individual whose achievements show some of the
possibilities for individuals with Down syndrome, Sarah enjoys an
impressively full and active lifestyle, making cakes and jams for a farm
shop hear her home.
Amongst her pursuits she counts caving, rock climbing, surfing, wind
surfing, abseiling, canoeing, scuba-diving, skiing, water skiing, ice
skating, barn dancing and swimming.
Sarah also received considerable press attention by passing her driving
test in 1987 when she was 21 years old.
