Responsibilities

Katie currently works part time, contributing to the Trust's Early Development Groups.
Katie has contributed to the development of the Trust's See And Learn publications and the Down Syndrome in Practice video films, and has also provided training to parents and professionals.

Background

Katie studied English Language and Literature at the University of Liverpool, graduating in 1996. She then worked in a variety of jobs until 1998 when she began a post-graduate diploma in clinical communication studies at City University, London, in order to qualify as a speech and language therapist.

Since 2000, Katie has worked as a speech and language therapist, initially working with deaf children, gaining additional experience and qualifications, including British Sign Language - level 2. Shortly after re-locating to the south coast, Katie joined the team at the Trust in 2004.

Katie is married to George. They live in Chichester and have a one year old son. Katie is expecting their second child in September 07.
