Cycling in the Rockies
Zena Mills and her friend Lisa Curtis raised more than £3,500 for the charity by taking
part in a nine day cycling challenge through Canada's amazing Albertan Rockies.
With a total cycling distance of over 500 km, the spectacular route took them through
the beautiful Banff and Jasper National Parks, past picturesque mountains and icefields,
and stunning glacial lakes.
Zena and Lisa completed their 500 km cycle ride across the Rocky Mountains in September
2006. They cycled through rain, hail and snow, camped in sub-zero temperatures and
didn't even have access to a hairdryer for five days!
With help from their family, friends and work colleagues they raised over £7,000
split between the charity and another charity. Zena has a six year old son Keir, who
has Down syndrome.
