Jobs at Down Syndrome Education International
Join our team and work to improve the lives of thousands of people with Down
syndrome around the world.
Now is an exciting and challenging time to join our team as we work to accelerate
progress in research and deliver greater global access to information and advice
about Down syndrome. We have recently reviewed our strategy and adopted an ambitious
5 year operating plan. Over the next five years, we anticipate considerable growth
and many new opportunities.
Working for us
Down Syndrome Education International is based at The Sarah Duffen Centre in Portsmouth,
UK, from where we work closely with research colleagues
and Down syndrome associations around the world. We currently employ 21 people (9
full time and 12 part time), including 7 people with Down syndrome.
Down Syndrome Education International is associated with and works closely with
Down Syndrome Education USA - a nonprofit based in Irvine, California. We plan to
operate some of our fundraising and development work from offices in London from
autumn 2008.
The staff team is committed and hard working. We are continually challenged to be
efficient and effective by a large project workload and high demand for our services.
We abide by the highest professional standards in our
research, practice, publishing, fundraising and accounting activities. Professional
practitioners and research staff frequently travel around the UK and overseas providing
specialist training and attending conferences, often at weekends.
If you are enthusiastic about our mission and enjoy challenging
and demanding work, then you will find working with us rewarding in many ways.
