Use your networks
Many of the grants and donations we receive from companies, trusts and societies
arise from personal contacts made by parents and relations.
Helping us by making a link
Many of the grants and donations we receive from companies and trusts arise from
parents' or relations' personal links.
Please think about the range of people you know through your family, work and social
networks who may be able to support the Trust's vital work.
Links with companies
Does your employer have a community support fund or charitable donations fund?
We are always much more successful raising money from a company if one of its employees
has given us their personal recommendation. Many of the company donations we receive
have arisen as the result of employee nominations, matched GAYE or matched fundraising
activities. Please consider approaching your employer for donations to The Down
Syndrome Educational Trust.
Links with grant-makers
Do you know anyone involved as a trustee or administrator of a grant-making trust
or foundation?
Many trusts do not consider unsolicited applications as they prefer to ask charities
they know to bid for funding. Over recent years we have been able to secure a number
of substantial grants because individuals have used their personal contacts with
trust administrators and trustees.
Links with societies and clubs
Do you, or anyone you know, sit on the fundraising committee at your local Round
Table, Rotary Club, Masonic Lodge, or Buffaloes, golf club or other society?
We frequently receive support from groups all over the country as a result of personal
recommendations from members.
