Our work for donors
Donors are critical to our success. Most of our work relies on charitable donations
from individuals, institutions and corporations around the world.
Helping make a difference
Through our work we provide donors with an opportunity to make a real difference
to the lives of individuals with Down syndrome around the world.
We offer individuals and organisations with a wide range of ways to support our
work, including making donations, becoming members or benefactors, running fundraising
event and volunteering their skills. Find out more about different

Responding promptly and efficiently
We aim to deal with all enquiries from donors, members and supporters promptly and
efficiently, and in accordance with the highest standards of fundraising practice
specified in the Institute of Fundraising's
Code of Conduct
and its
Codes of Fundraising Practice
.
Building transparent and open partnerships
To promote successful and lasting donor partnerships, the Trust aims to work closely
with individuals, foundations, institutions and companies to develop funding opportunities
in areas of mutual interest.
We aim to provide regular updates of our activities to our supporters and we publish
our Annual Report and Accounts on our website.
We welcome feedback from our donors.
Supporting fundraising activities
The Trust receives a substantial portion of its income from fundraising events entirely
organised by volunteers around the world. The proceeds of these events add up to
make a vital contribution to support our work.
As these events are run by kind volunteers they are a very cost effective source
of income for the Trust. We assist our volunteer fundraisers by providing information,
guidance and advice, by publicising events through our websites and publications,
and by offering design and print support.
Over the coming years, we also aim to build a vibrant online community of donors,
supporters, members and fundraisers to share ideas and advice.
Recognising donors' contributions
The Trust values the vital support provided by donors in the UK and around the world,
and we aim to thank all donors promptly, whatever the size of their donation.
Where appropriate, we are happy to publicly acknowledge the support donors such
as key benefactors, charitable trusts, foundations and companies make to our work.
