We work with our associate organisation DownsEd USA to improve the quality of support and education for young people living with the Down syndrome in the United States.

In partnership with our associate organisation Down Syndrome Education USA (DownsEd USA) we undertake a wide range of activities in the United States.

Through this work we help more than 30,000 people across North America each year:

• Our research influences educational practice in the USA - encouraging the teaching of reading to children with Down syndrome from an early age using a visually-based, whole word approach, and promoting the inclusion of children with Down syndrome in regular classrooms
• Our online information resources serve hundreds of people across the USA every day
• Our training and advice activities benefit American individuals, families, and we work with local support groups to offer our comprehensive Down Syndrome Education Conferences at locations across the USA
• Our staff frequently speak at major conferences and meetings throughout the USA
• Our publications provide evidence-based information to individuals, families and organisations across the USA
• We have developed US English versions of some of our most popular resources such as our See and Learn Language and Reading kits and our developmental checklists, and Spanish versions of our Down Syndrome Issues and Information books.
• We are working with the Down Syndrome Foundation of Orange County on their future plans for their Learning Program

Our online information resources are utilised by visitors from across the USA.

Collaboration
