Responsibilities
Stephanie joined the charity as a research
associate in December 2008.
Currently, Stephanie is involved with the charity's
longitudinal study of development in pre-school
children with Down syndrome. She is also helping to
prepare bids for research funding, including a
project evaluating a computer based intervention
which may improve working memory and attention in
children with Down syndrome. Stephanie also has
interests in IT and is keen to get involved with
developing web-based research and materials in the
future.
Background
Stephanie has a background in psychology and education.
She has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology with Certificate
of Professional Experience (Clinical Psychology), an MSc in Psychological Research Methods from
the University of Plymouth, and her PhD in
Psychology (also University of Plymouth) examined
the development of vocational interests and
cognitive abilities in secondary school children.
