followed by an interactive discussion between participants and expert panellists.
About the web seminar
This web seminar offers a live group consultation with expert practitioners
focused on how we can support full inclusion and meaningful lives for teenagers
with Down syndrome (11 to 16 years). The web seminar covers the following areas:
- Planning for full and meaningful lives.
- The world of school and community - how to encourage friendships and social inclusion
in school and in the community.
- The role of inclusive education.
- Preparing for adult independence.
- How to identify demands and to take care of the whole family now and in future years.
This web seminar is suitable for teachers,
teaching assistants, educational/school
psychologists, speech and language
therapists/pathologists, other health and education
professionals, representatives of support groups and
families seeking detailed information. It is
available to participants worldwide.
Each session lasts 1.5 hours, including 50-60 minutes for the live presentation
and 30-40 minutes for the interactive discussion. Participants can submit questions
during the session.
