This web seminar provides a live presentation about how we can
support full inclusion and meaningful lives for children and young people
with Down syndrome (birth to 16 years), followed by an interactive discussion between participants and
expert panellists.
About the web seminar
This web seminar offers a live group consultation with expert
practitioners focused on how we can support full inclusion and meaningful
lives for children and young people with Down syndrome (birth to 16 years). The
web seminar covers the following areas:
- Planning for full and meaningful lives.
- The world of school and community - how to
encourage friendships and social inclusion in
school and in the community.
- The role of inclusive education.
- Preparing for adult independence.
- How to identify demands and to take care of
the whole family now and in future years.
This web seminar is suitable for speech and
language professionals. It provides the information
and practical advice needed to provide effective
speech and language therapy and support for young
people with Down syndrome from birth to 16 years of
age. It is available to participants worldwide.
Each session lasts 1.5 hours, including 50-60
minutes for the live presentation and 30-40 minutes
for the interactive discussion. Participants can submit questions during the
session.
Web seminars are provided online with a
choice of Internet or telephone audio services. For
telephone audio, we offer toll-free access in 48
countries*. Participants receive downloadable
presentation handouts and resource lists.
