Frequently asked questions
Our interactive online events, web seminars and meetings can be accessed using typical
computer systems. Some of the most commonly-asked questions about our online services
are answered below.
Questions:
How do I book to attend a web seminar or online course?
Please see our booking guidance for instructions about
how to book to attend a web seminar or online course.
Are pre-recorded web seminars available on-demand?
We plan to record web seminars and to make the recording available. Recorded seminars
will not include the questions and answer part of the session - only the main presentation.
We are still finalising the systems for to make these available. Please check back
for further details.
Can I attend an alternative seminar or view a recording
if I miss a seminar?
Yes. If you miss a scheduled seminar, we will make arrangements for you to attend
an alternative seminar or to access a recording of the missed session (please note
that the question and answer part of the session is not recorded). These
instructions explain how to access a session
recording.
How can I access handouts before or
after a seminar?
You can access handouts from a link provided on the Webex page for each
session. These instructions explain how to access
handouts before or after a seminar.
Can I set up my computer in advance of a session to
ensure everything works?
Yes. To set up Training Center and verify that you have an appropriate
media player in advance of a web seminar, please follow our guidelines.
How do I work out the time of a web seminar in a different time zone?
We provide start times in Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) - equivalent to Coordinated
Universal Time (UTC). GMT is the reference time from which offsets for different
time zones are expressed. You can therefore add or subtract the offset for your
time zone accordingly. We also provide a table of common start times
and their equivalents in different time zones around the world.
What are the technical requirements for accessing
your online services?
Most personal computers typically in use today should be able to access our online
services. For full details, see our help page about technical
requirements.
What choices are there for audio communication during
live events?
You can use your computer to communicate (via the Internet) during live online sessions,
or you can use your telephone. For further information, see our
help page about audio options.
What should I do if I see a 'HTTP 500 Internal Server Error'
message when I try to logon to a session?
Try the following:
- this error is sometimes occurs if you copy and paste the session
password - try typing the password manually
- if this does not work, close all internet browser windows, restart
your browser and try again
- if you still see the error message, try clearing your browser's
cache and history, and adding Webex to your browser's 'Trusted Sites' -
they way to do this depends on your browser, so you will need to check
in your browser's help files for details
