Our Down Syndrome Education Conferences offer high quality, evidence-based guidance
and information for professionals and families and are offered at locations around
the world.
These unique events cover motor, cognitive, social, language, literacy and numeracy
development from birth, presenting up-to-date overviews of current knowledge and
illustrating evidence-based, effective teaching techniques and approaches for people
with Down syndrome.
Down Syndrome Education Conferences offer:
- Targeted in-depth training
A selection of accredited two-day 'In Depth' tracks provides comprehensive
training and skills development for teachers, teaching assistants, educational/school
psychologists, speech and language therapists/pathologists, other health and education
professionals and families seeking detailed information.
- Essential information and guidance
A selection of one-day 'Essentials' tracks gives families and professionals
an overview of the key issues and illustrate effective ways to support development
at home and at school.
- Age-specific tracks
Age-specific tracks over one and two days provide detailed information focused on
the early years (birth-5), primary/elementary school years (5-11) and secondary/high
school years (11-16). The available tracks may vary at differrent conferences.
- Speech and Language track
A special two-day track for speech and language therapists/pathologists, provides
the latest information and advice on promoting the speech and language development
of children with Down syndrome.
- A comprehensive programme
A full and comprehensive programme covers motor, cognitive, social, language, literacy
and numeracy development from birth through teenage years.
- Evidence-based advice from experts
Our conferences are presented by experts from Down Syndrome Education
