Advice session for families with young babies

We offer special individual advice sessions for families with young babies (from 3 to 12 months).

These last one hour and offer parents the opportunity to meet with one of our experts to discuss any concerns or questions they have and to learn about effective ways to support their baby's development. This one hour session for young babies if offered at the reduced rate of £50 + VAT.

Consultation with advice and recommendations

This type of consultancy for children from 12 months to 15 years provides practical advice and recommendations based on individual assessment and includes approximately two hours of direct work with the child and family.

The assessment may include standardised testing and evidence-based strategies for learning to determine your child’s strengths and needs. Activities to progress skills in areas of need can be discussed and demonstrated. The information shared will be based on the latest research and evidence on the learning profile of children with Down syndrome.

This type of consultancy may be particularly useful for families wanting speech and language assessment, behaviour assessment, and/or literacy/numeracy assessment.

A typical assessment and consultation session lasts 2 hours.

Consultation with advice, recommendations and a written report

This type of consultancy for children aged 12 months to 15 years provides practical advice and recommendations based on individual assessment, which includes standardised testing and evidence-based strategies for learning. It includes a written report of the findings of the session and recommendations for progress.

The assessment and report focus on the specific reasons for the consultation, as arranged in advance through our pre-booking service. This type of consultation may be helpful for families who require an independent assessment for accessing local support.

We typically allow 2 hours for a consultation plus 3 hours for preschool reports or 4 hours for school-aged reports.

A flexible service to meet your needs

We can provide our this assessment service in person, at The Sarah Duffen Centre in Portsmouth, UK, or we can provide our consulting service using our cost-effective Internet or teleconferencing facilities.

Fees

Consulting and assessment services supplied away from our offices are charged at rates fully inclusive of travel and accommodation according to region, number of staff and number of days of services. Services supplied at our offices in Portsmouth or via Internet or teleconferencing services are charged at an hourly rate.
