Early Support Developmental Journal

The charity led the team that developed the Early Support Developmental Journal for Babies and Children with Down Syndrome - a new resource to help parents keep a record to celebrate their child's progress as well as identify the developmental areas where the baby or toddler will benefit from extra help.

Recording and celebrating your child's progress

The Developmental Journal for Babies and Children with Down Syndrome is a new publication from the UK government's Early Support programme.

Published in September 2006, it was written by a team of experts led by Down Syndrome Education International.

The Journal has been designed specifically for families with a young child with Down syndrome and the professionals who work with them. It aims to help parents and carers to keep a record to celebrate their child's progress as well as identify the developmental areas where the baby or toddler will benefit from extra help.

Down Syndrome Education Internationalworked closely with the Early Support team, the Down's Syndrome Association, the Down's Heart Group, a panel of expert advisors and many families over more than two years to develop and pilot these materials.

How to obtain the Developmental Journal

The Developmental Journal is available for free download from the Early Support website or you can request a printed copy from them.
